1.
DEFINITION
“Club” means the Sarawak Club.
“Committee” means the Bar Sub Committee.
“Club’s Rules” means the Rules of the Club.
“Bars” means the Hornbill and the Badger Bars.
2.
BUSINESS HOURS
The business hours of the Hornbill and Badger Bars shall be
as follows:

Subject to payment of the prescribed overtime rates, the
closing hour can only be extended by a maximum of one hour up to 2 am.
3.
OVERTIME AFTER CLOSING HOUR
Members
and their guests remaining within the Bars after close of business shall be
charged overtime at the rate of RM8.50 per person per hour, minimum of 5
persons. Otherwise, a flat rate of RM42.40 per hour shall apply.
The Bar staff on duty shall be authorized to debit member’s
accounts accordingly but chits MUST be countersigned by a Security Guard on
duty as witness. No drinks shall be served after the extended closing hours.
4.
CORKAGE
Corkage shall be charged at the following rates:

5.
GUESTS
Members may invite guests to the bars but any guest invited
shall comply with Rule 39 of the Club’s Rules.
6.
PRICES
The committee shall determine the prices of drinks sold in
the Bars and may from time to time vary the said prices as and when it deems
such variations to be necessary.
7.
SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
The management committee and the committee reserve the right
and privilege to use the Bars for special functions organised by it or any of
them.
8.
MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
No musical instruments, radios, transistors, cassette
players, compact disc players or any musical appliance of any sort except those
used exclusively with ear or headphones may be brought into the Bars at any
time unless with the prior consent in writing of the Management committee or
the committee.
9.
FOOD
A. Eagle Arms
Only items mentioned in the specially
prepared menu by the Club for the Eagle Arms may be served in and consumed in the Eagle Arms.
B. Badger Bar
Only items mentioned in the specially
prepared menu by the Club for the Badger Bar may be served in and consumed in the Badger Bar & Badger
Bar Patio.
10.
DRESS CODE
A. Eagle Arms
Members and guests are expected to be smartly and
appropriately attired. Swimming attire and school uniforms are strictly
prohibited in the Eagle Arms.
For Men Shirts without sleeves, rubber / flip flop slippers,
sandals, shorts and torn jeans ARE NOT acceptable. Shoes must be worn.
For Ladies Sports
shorts, rubber / flip-flop slippers, sandals and torn jeans ARE NOT acceptable.
Shoes must be worn.
B. Badger Bar
Swimming attire and school uniforms are strictly prohibited
in the Badger Bar and its patio.
11.
CHILDREN
Children of 21 years and below shall NOT purchase and / or
consume alcoholic beverages in the Club premises and shall NOT purchase and/or
smoke cigarettes in the Club premises at all times.
Children under the age of 16 shall not be allowed into the Eagle
Arms and Badger Bar including the patio and timber deck of the Badger Bar.
12.
KARAOKE HOURS
A. Karaoke hours at
the Eagle Arms shall be as follows:-
5:00pm – 12.00am
5:00pm – 1.00 am
B. The Management
Committee may at its discretion amend the karaoke hours.
13.
KARAOKE EQUIPMENT
No members nor their guests shall operate the Karaoke
equipment / system nor handle the computerised karaoke system or laser discs or
disc players. The Disc Jockey or such other staff appointed and employed by the
Management Committee shall be the only person(s) authorized to operate or
handle the Karaoke equipment.
14.
REQUESTS FOR SONGS
All requests for songs shall be made to the Disc Jockey
either in writing or orally stating the titles of the songs, their pages and
numbers including the disc side. The requests will be entertained by the Disc
Jockey on a rotation basis from table to table and around the Bar counter.
The Committee reserves the right to change the request
system from time to time as it deems appropriate.
15.
TELEVISION ENTERTAINMENT (BADGER BAR)
A. No persons are allowed to replace
the Astro card with their own Astro card.
B. No persons are allowed to change
the Astro channel while other members are watching without their consent.
16.
CONTRAVENTION OF BYE-LAWS
Any member who contravenes any of the Bar Bye-Laws will be subject to a fine not exceeding RM50.00 and / or a warning letter and / or suspension as determined by the Committee and/or otherwise stipulated.
17. BALUT DICE GAME
Balut may only be played at the Eagle Arms up to 8.00pm
daily.
18. AMENDMENTS TO THE BYE-LAWS
The Management Committee may from time to time, add to,
alter and repeal Bye-Laws for the regulation of the affairs of the club. Such
Bye-laws so made, added to, altered or repealed shall come into operation and
binding on members after they have been posted in the club premises for fifteen
days.
