DEFINITION
“Club” means the Sarawak Club
“Committee” means the member of the Management Committee.
2 HOURS OF OPERATION
A. OPENING AND
CLOSING HOURS
The Club shall be opened and ready for
members from 8.00am daily. The various foods, beverage outlets and sports and
other facilities have varying opening and closing hours.

B. OVERTIME AFTER
CLOSING HOURS
Members and their guests remaining in the Outlets after the
close of business shall be charged overtime at the following rates:
Hornbill Restaurant
For A-la-carte: RM53.00
per hour per table from 11:00pm to 12:00midnight
Cut-off
time 12:00 midnight
For
Private Function: RM106.00 per
hour per table from 11:00pm to 12:00midnight

SPECIAL FUNCTIONS
The closing times for special functions will be announced in
advance.
4.
CLUB STAFF – Club Rule No.45
Any complaints from Members concerning the behavior of the
Club Staff should be referred in writing to the Honorary Secretary.
5.
CHILDREN
A.
Associate
Child and Junior Members are not allowed to bring in guests at any time.
B.
All
children under the age of 12 years must be accompanied at all times by members
who shall accept responsibility for them.
F.
Junior
Members aged 18 years and above are allowed to bring in guests to the food and
beverage outlets with the written consent of their parents.

LOST PROPERTY
The Security officer on duty will be responsible to see that
any property or clothing left behind at the end of each day is handed to the
Security Office. Members enquiring for any
property lost shall call at the Security Office and give a description of the
property before claiming it.
8.
CLUB PROPERTY
A. REMOVAL
OF CLUB PROPERTY
No books, periodicals, newspaper or any other property of
the club shall be removed from the club premises without the written consent of
the Committee.
Any member breaking or damaging any property of the Club
shall pay the cost of repair or replacement as decided by the Committee.
Members introducing guests shall be responsible for any damage to Club property
caused by their guests.
9.
PETS
No pets or animals of any kind shall be brought into the
Club premises. A fine of RM20.00 shall be imposed on members infringing this
rule.
10.
DRESS CODE
A.
MAIN HALL / BADGER BAR /
POOLSIDE TERRACE
Swimming attire is strictly prohibited
in these areas.
B.
HORNBILL
RESTAURANT
Members and guests are expected to be smartly and
appropriately attired. balustrade
For Men Swimming attire, T-shirts and
shirts without sleeves and / or collars (except traditional costumes e.g ‘baju
melayu’), rubber / flip-flop slippers, shorts and torn jeans ARE NOT
acceptable.
For Ladies Swimming
attire, rubber / flip flop slippers, shorts and torn jeans ARE NOT acceptable.
Bar stewards and waitresses are directed not to serve
members who are not properly attired.
Children below 12 years of age are exempted from the above
dress code, except swimming attire.
C EAGLE arms
Members and guests are expected to be smartly and
appropriately attired. Swimming attire and school uniforms are strictly
prohibited in the Eagle Arms.
For Men Shirts without sleeves, rubber / flip flop
slippers, shorts and torn jeans ARE NOT acceptable.
For Ladies Shorts,
rubber / flip flop slippers and torn jeans ARE NOT acceptable.
11.
CAR PARK
Members are to park their motor vehicle properly in the
appropriate parking bays, in order to
allow maximum usage of car parking bays at all times.
Non-members’ vehicle entering the Club
premises as guests of members shall be required to pay an entry fee of RM4.00. The Committee shall reserve
the right to reject any non-members’
vehicles from entering the Club premises without assigning any reason thereof.
A fine of RM50.00 will be imposed on members and guests
whose motor vehicle is found to be improperly parked, and the motor vehicle may
be subject to clamping which will only be released upon payment of the fine.
12.
COMMITTEE CAR PARK
The Management Committee shall be entitled to the allocated
spaces reserved for committee parking. The allocated parking spaces shall be
for the sole use of committee members and any other member parking his or her
vehicles in any of those designated parking spaces is subjected to a fine of
RM50.00.
13.
GUESTS (CONSTITUTION-RULE 39)
A.
The
admission of guests to the Club, is provided in the Rules of the Club. Members
bringing guests to the Club are required to comply with these Rules. Members
are reminded to enter details of the guests in the Guest Book provided by the
Club.
B.
No
adult or child resident in Kuching shall be introduced as a guest on more than
one day in any calendar month. However, guests when patronizing the Restaurant
and Bar, may be introduced any number of times.
14.
FOOD & BEVERAGE
Food and Beverage are prohibited in the library, playroom, Studio
and Gymnasium. Only items mentioned in the specially prepared menu by the Club
for the Hornbill Restaurant, Rajah Room, Eagle Arms, Brooke Chamber Meeting
rooms and Members’ Lounge may be served in the respective outlets. Food from
the Rajah Room and Hornbill Restaurant menu may also be served in the Mainhall
and Badger Bar. Only drinks from the Mainhall may be taken to and consumed at
the poolside patio, but constrained to non-glass and non-whiteware vessels.
15.
RADIOS & OTHER MUSICAL INSTRUMENTS
The use of radios, transistors, tape-recorders and other
musical instruments are not permitted in the Club premises except when used
exclusively with ear or headphones.
16.
IN-HOUSE ADVERTISEMENTS
Advertisement
space for sale or disposal of personal effects and articles may be displayed on
the “WANTED” and “FOR SALE” notice boards. Advertisements other than for the
above purpose shall be vetted and approved by the Honorary Secretary before
handed to the Club office where they will be assigned a serial number for display.
A standard fee shall be charged for this service.

17. VEHICLE ENTRY
& PARKING STICKER
D.
Members
who resign from being club members must return their car park access card,
vehicle entry and parking sticker to the Club Admin Office failing which a
penalty charge of RM 50.00 is imposed.
18. CUTLERY, CROCKERY & GLASSWARE
Cutlery,
crockery and glassware must not be taken out of the Mainhall and Bars. At the
poolside patio, only drinks from the Mainhall may be taken to and consumed
there, but constrained to non-glass and non-whiteware vessels.
19. SMOKING
Smoking is banned on the premises of the Sarawak Club, with
the exception of the following areas :-
and any other designated areas as decided by the Management
Committee.
20. GAMBLING
Gambling for money is strictly forbidden within the Club
premises.
21. AMENDMENTS TO THE BYE-LAWS
The Management Committee may from time to time, add to,
alter and repeal Bye-Laws for the regulation of the affairs of the club. Such
Bye-laws so made, added to, altered or repealed shall come into operation and
binding on members after they have been posted in the club premises for fifteen
days.
