Dear Members, 

The Management Committee is aware of the growing popularity of pickleball among members. Since the game was introduced on a trial basis in May 2023, the number of active pickleball players has grown and there have been reasonable requests to offer more playing opportunities. 

After careful analysis of the court usage data for tennis and pickleball over the recent six-month period, the data showed that the demand for pickleball courts now outstrips the number of tennis players.  Therefore, the Management Committee has decided to convert Tennis Court No. 1 into pickleball courts as the optimal way of utilising our limited sporting resources. 

We want to reassure all members that tennis remains a vital and cherished part of our club offering. We are committed to maintaining the high standards of our tennis facilities, and will continue to offer ample opportunities for play to active regular players, and non-regular members alike. We believe, however, that this decision will allow both tennis players and pickleball players access to facilities at convenient times of the day at the Sarawak Club. 

Thank you for your understanding and patience while the Management is readying the necessary works to convert the said tennis court into four pickleball courts, and new bye-laws for the facilities. We continue to work towards making our club an inclusive place where every member can enjoy their favourite activities.
