Basketball

1.      Definition

“Club” means the Sarawak Club

“Convenor” means the Club’s Basketball Convenor

“Management Committee: means the Sarawak Club Management Committee

“Club’s Rules” mean the Rules of the Club.

“SST” means Sales and Service Tax.

 

2.      Who May Play

All members of the Club as defined in Rule 7 of the Club’s Rules are eligible to use of the Basketball courts subject to these bye-laws.

 

3.      Guests (w.i.e. 23.08.2023)

Members bringing in guests to use the Basketball court and Futsal court must comply with Rule 39 and will be charged RM10.00+SST per guest per day. Members shall be responsible for the servance of the Club Rules and Bye-laws by their guests.

 

4.      Opening Hours

The Basketball court shall be opened for use during the following times:-

 

Tuesdays, Thursday, Saturdays and Fridays           8.00am – 9.30pm

 

5.      Booking of Court

a)    The Basketball court is available for booking between 7.00pm to 9.30pm.

b)    The charge is RM10.00+SST per hour per court.

c)    Booking for non-competition, games and practice games will be based on full court per booking.

d)    Bookings can be made up to one (1) day in advance on first come first serve basis.

e)    Members can make bookings either in person at Sports Counter or over the telephone.

f)     Consecutive booking of full court by the same member is allowed for a maximum aggregate period of two (2) hours only in the same day, provided in the event free courts are available; any member is allowed to book a further one hour session and so on.

g)    Members who fail to show up for their booking will still be charged the full amount of the booking.

h)    Any cancellation must be communicated to the Sports Counter with at least four (4) hours notice period before the start of the booking.

i)     If the member reserving the court does not occupy it within ten (10) minutes after the time stated in the booking register, the member will still be charged but the court may be used by other members subject to paying the appropriate charges.

 

6.      Dress Code

Members and their guests playing Basketball shall be properly attired while on the courts. While on the courts no players shall be without shirt.

 

7.      Liability For Injury

The Club, its agent and servant shall not be liable to any member and/or his guest for any accident or injury sustained on the Basketball Courts.

 

8.      Littering

No member or his guest(s) shall litter the courts or surrounding area, or leave any waste rubbish or anything whatsoever brought in by him or his guest(s) onto the Basketball Court.

 

9.      Food & Beverages

Drinks in glasses and food or any kind shall not be brought onto the Basketball Court.

 

10.   Amendments to Bye-Laws

The Management Committee may from time to time, add to, alter and repeal Bye-Laws for the regulation of the affairs of the Club.  Such Bye-Laws so made, added to, altered or repealed shall come into operation and binding on members after they have been posted in the Club premises for fifteen days.
